Good preparation can eliminate anxiety and doubt. With good preparation you will find it easier to relax during your labour. Relaxation means you can cope with the pain and your contractions can progress naturally. Your labour will run its course smoothly. You can prepare for labour in a variety of ways, for example a pregnancy class, reading a book, and etc. Talk about the experience with family members and friends. We are also here to help you prepare for your big day. Of course, you are free to ask any questions during your appointments, but every two weeks we organise an information evening for groups, working together with Maternity Care Rotterdam which both you and your partner may join.
During the information session, you will be given information regarding a variety of topics concerning labour and birth. This way you will know more about what to expect. This information can also guide you when having make all kinds of choice such as where you want to give birth, how you will feed your new baby, and whether you will opt for pain relief.
Do you want to join one of our information evenings? Register with one of our assistants!
Due to covid-19 the information is given in a video (Dutch)
Preparing to breast feed is also important. Luckily, we work together with lactation specialist Marieke van Beuzekom, who also organizes information afternoons totally focused on breastfeeding. Again, please register with the assistant. Learn more about Marieke on: borstvoedingridderkerk.nl
