First appointment
We recommend to set up an appointment sooner than later. Set this appointment for 8 weeks after conception. At your first check-up, we will perform a First Trimester diagnostic ultrasound to determine theย development of the fetus and to establish your due date. Furthermore, at the appointment you will be given information on various antenatal test, i.e. the combination test, 20 week ultrasound, and blood diagnostic testing.
The first ultrasound lasts for approximately 30 min.

What to bring with me
At the practice, please check-in with our assistants. They will welcome and register you.
Please make sure to bring the following:
- The question list (docx). This will also be mailed to you.
- 1 Form of government identification, i.e. passport, driver’s license.
- Proof of health insurance
Please immediately inform our assistants if you do not own a valid form of identification or if you are not insured in the Netherlands.
Follow-up appointments
The second appointment usually is a repeat of the First Trimester ultrasound and evaluation. This appointment will take up to 60 minutes.
Further appointments are โregular check upsโ and take approximately 15 minutes. The regular check ups include: weigh-ins, blood pressure measurement, fetal heartbeat measurement, and fundal height measurements. Our fetal heartbeat measurements are done with a doppler monitor.
Check-up appointments will become more frequent as your pregnancy progresses. This means, you will come in once every four weeks at the beginning of your pregnancy, and every week as you approach term.
