Your birth plan

Your birth plan includes where you want to give birth, how you want to deal with contractions, and whether or not you want pain relief. Would you like to give birth in a bed or on a stool, for example? Who may be present during labour? Your birth plan shows us what you consider to be of importance to you. Whoever you have chosen to assist you in your labour will take your wishes into account as far as reasonably possible. A birth plan is not a requirement, but it can be a useful guide for how you would like to experience labour. It is meant for yourself, your spouse, your midwife and other care providers. You can send us your birth plan via email, and we can discuss it during the next appointment. It is also useful to have a printed copy with you during your labour.

Fill out the online birth plan checklist answering one or more questions. Only tick those questions that you consider of personal importance. Use the empty fields for specific requirements, or to clarify a particular wish. You can print your birth plan once you have filled it in.

You can also write your own birth plan. Simply download the birth plan checklist.
