A pregnancy is always an exciting time. An incredible amount is happening in your body, and this will probably take some getting used to at first. To get a better idea of what is happening inside your body, it can be fun to have a fun ultrasound. By means of sound waves, it is possible to see how the baby is doing. For example, in the early stages of pregnancy, it can be nice to find out whether it is a single or multiple pregnancy, how many weeks pregnant you are, and to check the heartbeat. At a later stage of pregnancy, it can provide a better picture of your baby’s growth, the amniotic fluid, and its position in the uterus.
Prenatal ultrasound for gender determination
From 14 weeks onwards, it is possible to have a fun ultrasound to find out the gender. This is also known as a gender ultrasound. During this ultrasound, it is possible to see your baby and find out whether it is a boy or a girl.
At how many weeks has a prenatal ultrasound?
The fun ultrasound for gender determination is possible from 14 weeks. We recommend having a 3/4D fun ultrasound a little later, namely from 24 weeks. By doing this from 24 weeks, your baby can be viewed using a 3/4D fun ultrasound, and there is the opportunity to take a photo of the face. Around this time, your baby is already quite a bit more developed and has a layer of fat. From 25 weeks onwards, your baby also responds much better to touch, resulting in a more optimal outcome from a prenatal ultrasound. If the photos turned out well, you will of course receive them from us as color photos and on a USB.

You can have fun ultrasounds done at our practice. Pre-natal ultrasounds are non-medical ultrasounds that are not reimbursed.
This is possible throughout the entire pregnancy and without limitation. You can have a gender ultrasound from 14 weeks.
From 24 weeks, a 3/4D view is available; during this ultrasound, an attempt is made to capture beautiful images of the baby’s face. If this is successful, you will receive all photos on a USB stick and a color photo.
It is not always possible to take beautiful photos in 3/4D, despite our experience and good equipment. A placenta previa, the amount of amniotic fluid, a baby lying on the abdomen, and/or the amount of the mother’s subcutaneous fat are factors that determine the resolution and quality of the 3/4D ultrasound.
Growth scans or simply an ultrasound on request are available throughout the entire pregnancy. You may film and take photos during the ultrasound. These ultrasounds can be scheduled with our Practice Assistants.
Costs of prenatal ultrasound Rotterdam West
A gender ultrasound (from 14 weeks) costs €45 including black and white photos.
Ultrasounds on request: €46.58 You can have unlimited ultrasounds performed on request throughout the entire pregnancy.
We will then take photos and measure your child.
Separate 16GB USB: €10 (a personal, used USB may not be connected to our ultrasound device due to possible viruses)
Echo 3D/4D: Sometimes it is difficult to take beautiful photos in 3D/4D, even with good equipment, hence the prices below.

3D/4D ultrasound unsuccessful: €45 (cost price) with black and white photos.
