Since its introduction in September 2021, we have been offering the 13-week ultrasound at our own practice. The 13-week ultrasound is a medical examination for congenital physical abnormalities in your child. In the Netherlands, you can opt for this ultrasound if you participate in the scientific IMITAS study.

This ultrasound is performed from 12+3 weeks up to and including 14+3 weeks of pregnancy. The examination takes approximately 30 minutes. The goal is to provide you as parents with more information about your child’s health. If an abnormality (or suspected abnormality) is found, you may be referred to prenatal diagnostics at Erasmus MC. The research does not offer a 100% guarantee of a healthy child.

This ultrasound is free. You can only have a thirteen-week ultrasound once per pregnancy.
