Sound waves are sent into the uterus via a probe; these sound waves reflect off structures\/tissues in the abdomen, creating an image. The sound waves are inaudible and harmless during pregnancy.  <\/p>\r\n<p>There are several reasons to have a fun <a href=\"https:\/\/verloskundigenrotterdamwest.nl\/en\/fun-ultrasound-rotterdam\/\">ultrasound<\/a> early in pregnancy:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>whether the pregnancy\/fetus is located in the uterus<\/li>\r\n<li>whether there is a heartbeat in the fetus<\/li>\r\n<li>whether it concerns a single or multiple pregnancy<\/li>\r\n<li>the duration of a pregnancy\/fetal measurement<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Later in the pregnancy, an ultrasound can provide an image of:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>the growth of the child<\/li>\r\n<li>the amount of amniotic fluid<\/li>\r\n<li>the location of the placenta<\/li>\r\n<li>the position of the child<\/li>\r\n<li>the development of the organs in the child<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Below is an overview of the ultrasound services at our practice:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is an ultrasound?
